On notification by the FSA about a possible Dioxin risk in pork products from the Irish Republic & Northern Ireland all of Dennis Edwards Approved Suppliers have been contacted to ascertain whether any products supplied to us are affected.

As we receive responses we will keep you informed of any products affected. Further details can currently be found at www.fsai.ie and www.food.gov.uk

supplies Dennis Edwards with products which could be at risk. We will update this page as we receive
confirmation from our remaining suppliers.

Poultry products are set to rise as from w/c 25-06-2007.  All suppliers of poultry products will be increasing their prices over the coming weeks factors behind these increases are:

• Increase in feed prices due to diversification into Bio Fuels.
• Major Processor reduced kills by 1 million birds per week.
• High demand for dark meat, (including wings and drumsticks), into Eastern European countries.
• A new levy system will be put into place from 1st July 2007 by the EU to regulate the importation of
  Thai and Brazilian poultry meat into Europe

All Fairway chicken portions/Quarters etc & Padleys Branded products will increase
from w/c 25-06-2007 & it is only time before the rest will no doubt follow. Availability
could also be a problem so advise your customers to keep stocked up.

As warned back in September, The future of the Chip market ahead, still appears to be a bleak one.


Availability of good quality potato crops is causing processors severe problems, forcing the Prices higher.

From January 2007, please anticipate a further increase of  between 23 - 25% on your current price.


Quality & even availability could be big factors from the new year (January).

Keep your stocks high while price, quality & availability still good.

Due to Landing shortages of the raw material,  Scampi producers are to increase
the price of Scampi by another 15%. this is the second increase on scampi this year.
 

Price normality is not expected until well in to the first quarter of the new year.

This increase will come into effect the latter part of this month (October) & will
affect ALL  Scampi Brands.

The European summer weather effect responsible for the surge on Potato prices has also impacted on
fruit & vegetable crops pushing prices up.

The processors have now implemented *Price Increases* on all Fairway & other
branded  vegetable & fruit produce.

Regrettably We have no choice but to pass on these increases to you our customer.

Pea crops are adversely effected, please maintain your stock levels as they may become
short in supply in the very near future.

* Chips Update *

Fletchers are out sourcing production on the effected lines, non availability should be very short term, however we will be sourcing from alternative suppliers until production & availability can be guaranteed.
